“As long as we feel safely held in the hearts and minds of the people who love us, we will climb mountains and cross deserts and stay up all night to finish projects".
Bessel van der Kolk, M.D., The Body Keeps the Score
With a deep commitment to clinical psychology and mental health advocacy, I serve as the Director of Sarvin Sabet Psychological Services, where I lead a dedicated team specializing in psychological and med-legal services. With over 10 years of experience in the field, my work focuses on psychodiagnostic assessments, psychotherapy, and clinical supervision, ensuring that each client's unique psychological needs are met with comprehensive research, evidence-based interventions, and a deep understanding of how life events impact overall functioning. My approach is rooted in tailoring psychological care to each individual by assessing the interplay between trauma, resilience, cognitive function, emotional well-being, defense mechanisms, and life-span developmental stages. I believe that understanding a person’s history, life events, and cognitive strengths and limitations is crucial in providing effective and personalized psychological care. Each case is carefully researched and assessed, ensuring that treatment and intervention plans align with the client’s unique experiences and challenges.
Beyond my clinical work, I am a dedicated advocate for women’s rights and mental health awareness. I take great pride in training and mentoring recent graduates, and immigrant aspiring psychologists who are eager to establish themselves in the field of psychology in Canada. I am committed to providing guidance, supervision, and practical experience to help them navigate the complexities of this profession, ensuring they build confidence and competence in their roles. I strongly believe in empowering marginalized communities and advocating for justice through mental health. I also conduct pro bono psychological assessments for refugees and, during the COVID-19 pandemic, provided free psychological services to frontline nurses and healthcare workers. My passion lies in amplifying the voices of immigrants and individuals who have been overlooked or underserved, ensuring they receive the psychological care and support they deserve. Mental health is deeply intertwined with social justice, and I strive to be a voice for both my clients and fellow immigrants, helping them navigate systemic challenges, access appropriate care, and reclaim their sense of agency.
I am an active member of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), the Canadian Society of Medical Evaluators, the Canadian Academy of Psychologists in Disability Assessment, and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am currently pursuing my Psy.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology at Adler University in Chicago with the support of a merit scholarship and have expertise in Independent Third-Party Assessments, Medico-Legal Assessments, and Catastrophic Impairment (C-CAT MB) Evaluations. My clinical work involves conducting research-based assessments and providing holistic treatment for adults affected by motor vehicle accidents (MVAs). I am highly proficient in using evidence-based intervention models and integrating therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of diverse client populations. Before immigrating to Canada, I worked extensively with marginalized communities, focusing on gender-based issues, trauma, forensic assessments, and psychological rehabilitation. I supported juveniles at the State Welfare Organization, provided crisis intervention through the Red Crescent, and conducted assessments in correctional units. I offer services in Farsi, Turkish, and English, with extensive experience working with multicultural clientele.
